What do you think of Pompeii? Have you ever been here and when? I worked with some tourists coming here several years ago, even before I became a tourist guide. They told me about an old house, a desert corner of the ancient city.<\/p>\n
They always tell me: \u201c oh when I was here 30 years ago it looked so different, I remember a different plaster cast, a different house \u201c.<\/p>\n
I always try to explain them that Pompeii is enormous and you can do different kind of tours. Moreover, 30 years are gone! New excavations have been done! That\u2019s why, when you return to Pompeii for example, try to remember that they constantly work and go ahead in this archaeological site. Pompeii never stops and\u00a0never sleeps. Tours by night are organized in summer time too. This blog is important to share your personal experience about Pompeii.<\/p>\n
For example: do you like Roman history? And do you like Greek history too? What do you think about the Etruscans? Were they a fascinating civilization? What influence do you think they had on the Romans? Do you know the Samnites too? Who were the first people living in Pompeii? Why did people come here for living roughly 2500 years ago? Use your imagination trying to feel as staying at the time of the big eruption that buried the city\u00a0till 20 feet of ash. People escaping, bumping into each others, parents looking for their children, children for their parents.<\/p>\n
