One of the last finds in Pompeii, precisely in the Villa of Civita Giuliana, located in the in the area on the north of the aechaeological area of Pompeii, where the excavations have been going ahead for years, is the so-called “Room of the Slaves”. In this location of Pompeii very interesting finds have already found, , like prints of three beds, of which plaster casts were made, two of them 1.70 metres long and the other one 1.40 long, probably the bed of a child, supposedly the son of a slave; it must be considered that the medium heights of the people who lived in Pompeii 2000 years, was inferior than the current one.

So these beds probably were for the slaves who took care of maintenance works of this famous villa on the north of Pompeii, including that of the beautiful “parade float” found recently in this area of Pompeii too, which is another important find. Here the skeletons of three horses, of which one a plaster cast was made too.

In The Room of the Slaves, here in Pompeii, the rudder of a charriot was found on one of the three beds too. Here some amphorae and a night vase were found too. The Procura of Torre Annunziata, the city neighboring Pompeii, is checking that the “tombaroli” (graves robbers), who usually steal valuables in the archaeologica areas to sell them , do not arrive.

Because of these tombaroli a lot of important values, which were important to reconstruct the history of Pompeii, got lost. Now we hope that the excavations of Pompeii will go ahead very efficiently, in the same way they have been done in the last ten years, and to find a lot of very important  finds.
